How to Wash Your Semi-Truck
Not only does a clean semi-truck look more professional, but it’s also less likely to fall victim to rust and deterioration. In other words, it’s easier to clean dirt off your truck than it is to remove rust. For more on how to clean your semi-truck, check out this guide from Empire Truck Sales.
Cleaning Out Your Trailer
Start by cleaning both the inside and outside of your semi-truck’s trailer. We recommend washing the top of the trailer first and then working your way down. Your owner’s manual should have a list of manufacturer-approved cleaning products. Avoid using non-approved products, as these can cause damage to your trailer. Don’t forget to clean extra components like ramps and shovels as well. If you plan to transport goods that require a sterile environment like medical supplies or food, you’ll need to clean and disinfect the inside of your trailer more frequently. Finally, always allow your trailer to dry before attempting to load it.
Washing the Exterior
When it comes to washing the outside of your semi-truck, you have a few options. Washing by hand is the cheapest option, though it’s also the most time-consuming. If you wash your semi-truck by hand, you can inspect your truck as you go. Another option is to hire a mobile truck washing service. There are usually multiple truck washing services serving the same area, so shop around if you go this route. Finally, there are automated semi-truck services. While this is the most expensive option, it’s a fast and convenient way to clean a large rig.
